The great book of...

The great book of Job is seldom used in any Lectionary, so it's a delight to find it here to compliment the Gospel story of nature miracles and healings.
In Greek Orthodox thought Job is a prefigurement of Jesus, who finds the answer to the question of why suffering for the righteous man. God is just; in this passage he speaks to Job out of the whirlwind (as Jesus addresses the storm). God walks on water (v. 16). God made the sea and has power over it; so Jesus, as part of the Godhead, has power over nature.
