Have you ever really been...

Have you ever really been thirsty? Today in the USA almost every community large and
small has an abundance of fresh water to use. Many even have refrigerators that supply
with a touch, ice cold water, and ice along with it. Not so in the desert for the nation of
Israel. Water was precious, and dying of thirst was not unusual.
I remember times of real thirst while working on our farm in the blistering summer heat. Our acreage was a mile long, and the well and buildings were on one end. A deep ravine with a trickle of water in the bottom ran the distance of the land. My father showed me a couple natural springs, where one could drink refreshing cool water. In order to drink, a depression was made in the soil just below the spring, then, when the water filled the depression, one could carefully get a small drink.
Jesus is the water of life. He alone can satisfy our craving hunger and our inner thirst.
