Have you ever stood in...

Have you ever stood in a holy place? When I was in an Episcopal seminary in Sewanee, Tennessee, I would often go out to Saint Mary's convent and have morning prayer with the Sisters. There is something about an early morning prayer time in a convent or monastery on a mountain. During Ash Wednesday services we fasted and practiced silence. On one mountainside was a statue of Saint Francis; you could sit near it and see for miles off into the valley far below. Years ago the Indians had been afraid to spend the night on this holy mountain. Modern Caucasians are not afraid.
