Have you ever watched a good verbal fight between two people? It doesn't matter if the fight is between husband and wife, between parent and child, between two good friends, or between two strangers at work, the dynamics of the fight are often the same. One person makes a statement, or perhaps it should be called a pronouncement. The other responds with a pronouncement. As you listen you begin to wonder about the responses to each other. It is as if one is not listening while the other is talking. It is as if the response is being formulated before the other has stated their position.
