As he approached the homeless shelter in the center city, Terry was apprehensive. He was one of ten high-schoolers who had signed up from his rural community to participate in a summer work camp. This evening their assignment was to serve the food line at the shelter. The guy in charge led them through the dining area, back to the kitchen, where he handed each youth an apron. "The serving spoons are on the food line," he told them.
