In his book, Remember...

In his book, Remember Who You Are, Dr. William Willimon tells of an experience when he was appointed to a church. His next-door neighbor, upon learning that he was a preacher, introduced herself as being charismatic, having received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
"That makes two of us," was his response. He could tell she was skeptical of his claim.
"I'm praying for you ... that you will receive the gift of the Spirit," she told him in a later conversation.
He thanked her and told her she need not bother the Lord with that request since the Lord had already given him the Spirit. He could tell she doubted him. "I would be interested in knowing how and when you received the Holy Spirit," she questioned him.
"I can tell you," Dr. Willimon responded. "I was a few months old at the time. A preacher named Forrester took me in his arms, poured water on my head, and said that I had the Holy Spirit surrounding my life."
"That isn't baptism of the Holy Spirit," she returned.
"Well, the preacher said I got it and everyone else said I got it. And, if that didn't take, when I was about 10 years old another preacher named Herbert stood in front of the church, put his hands on my head and said, in effect, 'Wil, you've got the Spirit. Now use it!' "
