How strong is your faith...

How strong is your faith? "Firm and unshakable," you say. "It's intense and invincible."
Abraham was the Old Testament standard of faith. The writer of Hebrews pointed out
more illustrations of belief in Abraham's life than he did any other Old Testament person.
It would be well to compare our faith to Abe's.
This section of Hebrews notes compelling examples that Abraham gave us. But note that the writer used action verbs to describe the patriarch's faith -- "obeyed," "stayed," and "looked forward."
The Lord ordered Abraham to leave his dad's home and go to an unknown place. He obeyed. When he arrived, the Lord didn't allow him to establish permanent residence; he and his family lived there in tents. He looked forward to an inheritance, but never saw it. Is your faith comparable to Abraham's? Are you ready to obey, give up pleasure, and look forward to heaven? "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
