I can name many pastors I admire and have heard many times, but I can't remember the slightest thing about their sermons. I only heard Jimmy Lueders once. It was more than 22 years ago, and I didn't particularly like or admire him, but I can tell you a lot about the sermon. He told several stories. One was an example of confident faith. It was about a pioneer who had to cross a river that was frozen over. He timidly crawled out on the ice, spreading his arms and legs to distribute his weight. Painfully he inched to about halfway across the river of ice when he heard a sound behind him.
