I carried the baby in my womb for nine months. In a late afternoon moment with the eruption of much water, the awaited moment was before me. The months of waiting had become weeks of waiting, the weeks days, and now the days hours.
As calmly as I could I finished a few brief tasks, and prepared for my departure for the hospital. My heart sang with fear and anticipation. What would the next hours bring? What would this new life be like?
