Emphasis Preaching Journal

I have spent countless hours in hospitals with parishioners who were sick or dying. It's often hard to know what to say. I know that I represent God and the church ... and that, in a very real way, I represent hope. And so I go and visit and do my best. Sometimes I say things that seem to help, but I have found that being there is far more important than what I say.
