I remember once, as a small child, being lost in a corn field. Actually, I had been playing with my cousins, and when we got separated by several rows of tall stalks, I could still hear them, but could not see them. They had assured me that the field was full of snakes and I was very afraid of snakes! And mostly I was afraid of being lost forever in a world of green leafy stalks. Suddenly, my uncle came walking slowly down the row -- what a sense of joy I felt, seeing his face. -- Winifred
