I was once approached by a scandalized member of our women's group who reported to me "the women's Bible study referred to God as 'she'."
Why do we continually forget God is sexless. In terms almost too embarrassing to be biblical, the Messianic Age is portrayed as a time of love between God and people that is innocent enough to see "consoling breasts" as a symbol of nourishment and joy. The Lord says, "As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you." This text offers the preacher an opportunity to explore the various feminine attributes of God as Mother.
