If you've ever studied a musical instrument, you'll know the truth of the saying "practice makes perfect." As a child, I used to hate hearing that. I was one of those piano students who could sight-read almost anything. I used to hate having to practice and my sight-reading abilities made me feel as if I could fool anyone who listened to me play. I used that trick on my teachers until I graduated to the senior teaching staff at the School of Music where I studied. In a matter of lessons, my new teacher had me pegged. "You play so well," he said.
