It was in the depression...

It was in the depression years, the mid-30s, and nobody could buy a new chair let alone a new car, except a few people whose financial situations were different from everybody else's. The Ford Motor Company came out with a snappy little Ford with an engine turning up low horsepower; this would reduce the operating costs and appeal to the marginal prospect. It was rated at 60 horsepower in contrast to the standard V-8 85 engine. The advertising pictures were beautiful. The gracefully flowing lines of the body gave a sense of motion.
