It was a judgment night in Egypt; during this night some would die and some would be spared death. And by what criterion would the choice be made as to who would die and who would live? Not by the color of the skin, or the clothes the people wore, or the names by which they were known, but by the blood of a slain Iamb. It was this that made the difference. In John 1:29, John the prophet says to the people concerning Jesus, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" And in Revelation 5:12 we read concerning Christ, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain ..."
