It was two weeks to the end of the school year when three seniors decided to tempt fate and skip school. In these days skipping school earned a two-week suspension, no exceptions. So close to summer, a two-week suspension meant that final examinations would be missed before graduation. Stakes were high. The homeroom teacher noticed that the president of the senior class and his two friends were absent ... The principal called the class president's mother at her office. She reported that she last saw him leaving for school. She would call his father; they would find him.
