It was very important...

It was very important to Jesus to observe the Passover celebration. We know that he regularly attended the synagogue. We know the exhortations to meet together, "For wherever two or three are gathered together in my name there am I in the midst of them."
Yet many complain that it takes too much time and effort to worship regularly. Perhaps a statistical perspective would help to quell this complaint. On the average, if a person lived seventy years he or she would spend:
Three years in education
Eight years in amusements
Six years at the dinner table
Five years in transportation
Four years in conversation
Fourteen years in work
Three years in reading
Twenty--four years sleeping.
If during these seventy years you attended worship services or Mass weekly and prayed for five minutes every morning and evening, it would only add up for five months.
