J. S. Bach, whose 300th birthday we celebrate next month, invariably penned three letters at the conclusion of the music he composed. It's significant that some of it was not "sacred" and churchly stuff. Still, at the close he'd jot those letters: "S.D.G." -- Soli Deo Gloria. To God alone be glory.
