James Lloyd Breck was a great missionary who took the gospel message to Wisconsin, Minnesota, and California in the nineteenth century. It was not unusual for him to walk or ride a horse on a fifteen- to twenty-mile circuit on Sundays and preach at five or six missions he had set up around the area.
