Jane Addams, a social worker...
Illustration
Jane Addams, a social worker in the Chicago slums, did more to reduce crime among youth than any other single factor. Several months before her death, a minister asked her what the secret was to her amazing life. She said, "I looked up into the face of Christ and then I looked into the faces of these needy boys and girls, and I tried to bring them together."
