Jesus came to bring life and that life was the light of the world. Light is important for every living thing on earth. Consider the birds. Birds rely on the sun's cycle to adjust their biological clocks, which prompts breeding, migration, and molting. As ultraviolet light enters the bird's eye, it is interpreted by the Harderian gland, which sends signals to the bird's pineal and pituitary glands. The change in the color of light and the intensity of light triggers the seasonal activities we see in birds.
