John and Mary both liked cooking. Since both worked outside the home, this was a happy situation. Sometimes Mary would come home exhausted and John, though tired himself, would whip up something in the kitchen. Mary liked John's cooking, but John was a real mess in the kitchen. He could never get past serving. Dirty dishes, sticky counters, and a general disaster scene always followed everything John did in the kitchen.
