John Wesley used a phrase...

John Wesley used a phrase called "plundering the Egyptians." It came from the account of the Exodus in which the Hebrew people took the best from Egyptian society the night before they left Egypt. Paying Caesar what is Caesar's and giving God what belongs to God is a very similar slant. There are positive and negatives in all of life. Nothing is perfect, so if we can learn to extract the positives and concentrate on them, often the negatives will fall away of their own accord.
