John's vision of the faithful reminds one of an election night party. On election nights as television viewers watch returns announced, it is typical to have the cameras venture from campaign headquarters to campaign headquarters. Usually as the evenings wear on and forecasts are made, these gatherings become the arenas for speeches of concession and victory. Both successful and unsuccessful candidates are surrounded by their most ardent supporters. These people are the ones who have been the faithful workers in their respective camps through the long, hard work of the campaign.
