Paul is talking about the food offered to idols, although the food, in itself, is unimportant. His real concern is that we not do anything that will cause our brothers to fall.
Charles M. Crowe told of a young man who was a Christian, who was at a party where drinks were being ordered. He did not want to drink an alcoholic beverage or to influence anyone else to drink one. But he realized that if he waited until the last he would probably be the only one to refuse. Therefore, he decided to place his order first.
