Last year during the Texas governor's race I was coming out of a restaurant in Dallas and ran right into one of the candidates for that office. This gentleman had created some problems for himself by making flippant remarks that many considered sexist and inappropriate. Still, he was heavily favored to win.

That evening I had been to dinner with two board members. As we ran into the candidate we were amazed when he paused to speak to the two men in the party, but completely ignored the one woman. He never acknowledged her presence in any way at all.
