At least every ten years the famous fable of Robin Hood is remade into a new movie. The details change, characters become animated animals or the story becomes a tale of heroic passion or silly spoof, but always the Sheriff of Nottingham is a prominent character. He not only takes money from the poorest of the poor, but their food and dignity as well. In the end his cruel deeds are stopped, his victims are awarded restitution and his greedy crimes are punished.
