Lisa Alther's novel Original Sins...

Lisa Alther's novel Original Sins is a tiresome recital of lurid descriptions of violence and sex. At the same time the story is a faithful analysis of the gross sociological changes that have transformed our lives from the 1950s onward. The tale is about five youngsters who shared intimately and optimistically life in a small southern town. Their hopes, their dreams, and their relationships were seriously altered as they matured, married, and raised children. The five became case studies of the impact that role changes have made on our society.
