The little child is voicing the usual fear about graveyards. "How spooky they are with all those dead people in them! Mother interrupts with parental wisdom, telling the child that it is never the dead ones that should concern us, but the ones that are very much alive.
The powers of evil need not fear that Jesus died. It is because he was raised to life again that things happened. Past, present, and future were all brought to a focal point in the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. In this action, evil with its far-reaching tentacles was robbed of its imprisoning power.
