"Love" is one of those words which has been trivialized, yet we must almost shout for joy when we hear our text, "See how much the Father has loved us! His love is so great that we are called God's children ..." (TEV).
A man recalled how bad he had felt when he heard Will Rogers had died in an airplane crash. In Alaska he stayed at the same hotel in which Rogers had stayed. The man thought of how he and his parents were affected by the sad news. He said, "God never allows the world to hit us so hard that we are not at the same time given the assurance of His love for us."
