Emphasis Preaching Journal

Many years ago I conducted a funeral for a man who didn't attend church regularly. He would argue about the way the world was and how that seemed to make a mockery of God's good intentions. Often he criticized the church because it seemed to be populated by nothing more than hypocrites. When he died, some people wondered what could be said about a man who held such publicly antagonistic feelings. One of the family suggested that when he arrived in Heaven, he had probably already begun trying to organize Heaven the way he thought it ought to be.
