In the mountains of Northern Sumatra in Indonesia, there is a seminary of the Indonesian Methodist Church where young people are trained to go out and preach and teach in the name of Jesus Christ. Despite Dutch occupation 200 years ago, most of the jungle villagers had never heard the name of Jesus. Their religion is a combination of animism (a belief that every tree, stream and land has its own spirit that must be appeased) and ancestor worship.
