Emphasis Preaching Journal

In my first year of seminary I had the opportunity to be guide and "go-fer" for a distinguished pastor who was on campus for several lectures. He lived up to expectations as a communicator in the public presentations which I witnessed. Later he gathered a group of us standing around and took us out to an Italian restaurant for dinner. I remember the meal conversation much more vividly than the lectures, as this pastor informally and humorously shared experiences from the beginning of his ministry serving a rural circuit in Appalachia.
