My friend pastors in a mainline denomination. The community where his church is located has become well known because a revival has gone on in one church in that city for a lengthy period of time. People talk about this church with mixed opinions. Some of the language used to describe this revival makes my friend uncomfortable. As a student of the scriptures, my friend determined that he would not take positions based solely upon hearsay. He would be a good listener, and then he would try to see what the scriptures had to say about the matter at hand.
