New heavens and a new earth, God says through the prophet. In his day, it was seen in terms of places only a few miles away. In our time, we have symbols, pictures that unite our world from a greater perspective. For example, the pictures sent back from the moon showing our earth as the sphere it is gives an awesome unity to our life on this planet. A leading soft-drink company uses the singing of South Africans as a background for one of their commercials. The results of talks between national leaders are brought to us instantaneously, both in picture and sound.
