The next time you watch...

The next time you watch a baseball game and some mighty slugger swaggers up to the plate, ask yourself, "Is this man the most important and powerful person in this game?" It doesn't take much thought to realize he isn't. He has a manager who could take him completely out of the game any time he chose. There is an umpire who has indisputable power to declare him out. But even beyond that is a man more powerful than any on that field. That is Abner Doubleday, who established the rules by which the game is played.
