No one knew for sure...

No one knew for sure what to expect. No one was sure who the targets were. The Olympic Games were being terrorized, reminiscent of Munich. A deadly bomb had exploded right in the middle of a crowd celebrating at Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park on July 27, 1996, injuring a number of people and causing the death of at least one. Almost immediately, Richard Jewell of Atlanta was arrested as a suspect. Everyone assumed he was guilty. His picture quickly appeared in newspapers and magazines all over the country with articles speculating why he was linked with the crime.
