Officially, Maryanne was a hairdresser who worked out of her own home. Unofficially, Maryanne was a preacher, a teacher, a witness, a counselor, and a friend. She had an innate ability to reach out to those who were hurting. Whenever someone tried to thank her, she'd say, "Don't thank me. Thank God for bringing us together, and then ask God to use you to help someone else in need." Maryanne was also the type of person who was never sick, and so when she had a cold that wouldn't get any better, everyone urged her to see a doctor.
