One evening, several years ago, with no advanced warning, a husband curtly announced to his wife he was leaving her for another. She screamed in disbelief, threw some dishes at him, and spent the night locked in her room sobbing. With no more tears to shed, the next morning she tried to talk. She enquired why he was walking out; if she had failed him, could they get counseling. She said she would try to understand, forgive, and do whatever was necessary to keep their marriage together. It was then he told her, he was leaving her for another man.
