Emphasis Preaching Journal

In our home there is a drawer full of things that can only be called junk, and yet we will not throw them out, because when we touch and handle and look at them, they bring us back to a beloved person or a special occasion. They are common things that have a meaning far beyond themselves. That is a sacrament. The bread which we eat at the sacrament is common bread, but, if we have hearts to feel and understand, it is the very body of Christ. The cup which we drink is wine, but it is the blood Christ shed on Calvary for us.
