Paganini, the great violinist of yesteryear, appeared before a vast audience to perform the same selected music that had left previous audiences rendering thunderous applause. A deathly hush came over the enormous gathering as Paganini lifted the violin to position it beneath his chin. There followed an awkward pause. The great master lowered the violin, turned it curiously from side to side, and appeared confounded. "Ladies and Gentlemen," he said, "please excuse me, this is not my violin." For a moment, Paganini seemed paralyzed.
