A pastor had served several small churches over the years. Two appointments were single churches and one appointment was to three churches where he preached at three separate worship services in three locations each Sunday morning. In all three appointments he was a "lone ranger" in that he was expected to do the work of the pastor and the work of the secretary and, sometimes, even the work of the trustees.
