A pastor made his regular call on John, a member of the church who had suffered for years with multiple sclerosis. The disease had progressed to the point that he needed someone to stay with him night and day. John, a widower, loved to talk with those who visited, especially when his visitors were from his church. He was knowledgeable about politics, baseball, world affairs and television programs, among many other subjects. A former trustee in his church, John also loved to talk about the ongoing programs in the denomination.
