Paul commends the saints in...

Paul commends the saints in Colossae for their faith and for their love and hope. Now he prays that they may be filled with knowledge and understanding, in order that they may lead worthy lives, bear fruit, and grow (vv. 9-10). For Paul, the life of the believer is never stagnant, never complete! Many Christians assume that there is some point of arrival in their faith journey. Children may see confirmation or believer's baptism (depending on church practice) as a kind of spiritual graduation. Adults may regard Sunday school as "just for kids." Not so for Paul!
