Paul instructs the church to pray together without anger and quarreling. We seldom dig deep into the meaning of the dislike which results in anger. Today we accept it passively as constructive aggression. But anger has another face which Ernest Becker opens to us. He used the word "hate" which is the ground source of anger.

... hate would be defined as a ... technique whereby positive self-feeling is generated, when one is contemplating an object toward which one can perform no satisfying action. Hate creates self-reference and imagined behavior in an action void.*
