People often were perplexed by the people that Jesus associated with. At Sychar he spoke with a woman in public, a woman who was a Samaritan, enemies of the Jews. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., led his people from Selma to Montgomery. As they arrived at the city limits they were met by the sheriff. The sheriff told them to turn back. They refused. The sheriff told the people that if they didn't turn back that his men would bash in their heads. To this Dr. King replied, "If you hit me, I will love you. If you kick me, I will love you.
