Perhaps we have become so...

Perhaps we have become so familiar with this passage that we forget its radical truth. We sometimes say to a troubled person, "You only have to take it one day at a time." Indeed, we may not have that long. This hour, this minute might be your last. Are we then to grasp life? That is impossible. In the Talmud, Erubin 54a reads, "Hurry and eat, hurry and drink, for this world is like a wedding feast from which we must soon depart."
