Persecution is not beyond possibility...

Persecution is not beyond possibility for those who follow Christ. In some cases it can mean imprisonment for following one's conscience. The U.S. poet, Robert Lowell, refused to serve in the Army and was imprisoned for five months by court order. While waiting to be transferred to New England to serve his sentence, he was held briefly in New York City's West Street Jail. During his time there he ended up in a cell next to a convicted member of "Murder Incorporated," a fellow named Louie Lepke. "I'm in for killing," Lepke said to Lowell.
