Peter Marshall once preached a sermon titled "The Saint of the Rank and File," (in Mr. Jones, Meet the Master, Fleming H. Revell, New York, 1949), about the Apostle Andrew. Andrew is, for him, the epitome of the silent-in-the-background type of person, the one who is not often remembered, except perhaps in an odd way. It was Andrew, you see, who brought his brother, Simon Peter, to Jesus. It was Andrew who brought the little boy with the loaves and fishes to Jesus.
