A Philadelphia hotel clerk gave his room to an elderly man and his wife when there were no other rooms to be had. Next morning, as the elderly man paid the bill, he said to the clerk, "You're the kind of manager who should be boss of the best hotel in the United States. Maybe someday I'll build one for you." One day that clerk received a letter from the elderly man. He recalled that night in Philadelphia and enclosed a round trip ticket to New York. When the clerk reached New York, the old man led him to the corner of Fifth Avenue and 34th Street.
